FAQ

Do you sell pre-orders, or take custom orders?

  • No. We only sell work that is ready-made.

Why don't you take pre-orders or customs?

  • Even though there are several of us in Willahollow Pottery we are independent small batch producers and pre-orders would sell out just as fast as ready-made pottery, so all a pre-order does is stress us out. We want to keep it fun.

When will you make _____________ again?

  • We cannot commit to an answer until each complete piece comes out of the kiln. We do try to make things that are popular, and people want, we  also like to make things that make us happy. We have hundreds of ideas, (ADHD) and only so much time to implement them. We do revisit designs that people love, but they may not come back in every pop-up shop, and there will be a finite amount we make.

When are the pop-up shops?

  • Please subscribe to my email list to learn first. Pop-up dates are also displayed on Willahollow Facebook page, as well as the main page of the website.

Can I microwave this?

  • If a piece of pottery has any type of luster on it, or crystals and driftwood; NO. some pottery will become hot when microwaved.

Can I put this in the dishwasher?

  • If a piece of pottery has any type of luster on it, or crystals and driftwood; NO

Is this food safe?

  • All pottery sold with the purpose of use with food or beverage is glazed in stable glazes. No glazed areas that will come into contact with your food or drink are glazed in glazes that contain lead, or other harmful chemicals. These surfaces can withstand mild abrasions from utensils and cutlery, but please note that handmade pottery is not the same as purchase at Target or Walmart and may exhibit wear and tear more than other items.

I broke my pottery! Can I fix it?

  • Maybe. If the break is something like a handle that's been broken off, you may be able to glue it back on using a two-part epoxy glue system. But I make no promises of success. (we suggest E6000 craft adhesive)

  • However, if the break is in a place that comes into contact with food or beverage, it is no longer safe to use and will never be watertight again. You can repair the damage with the epoxy glue and use the item as a decorative piece, but I do not advise you use the pottery for food or drink.

We do not provide replacements of pottery that have been broken by user error.

How do you set your prices?

  • We set our individually each potter sets the price their piece. Prices is considered by combining the following elements:

    • Time and labor

    • Materials used

    • Skill level

Where do you ship?

  • Lower 48 states. Shipping times and price of shipping depend on the speed you chose in checkout, and the current restrictions and constraints of COVID-19. We use USPS primarily.

How much is shipping?

  • We cannot quote you, as that all depends on weight, size, and location. This is determined in real time we contact you prior to shipping.

What if an item is damaged in shipping?

  • If an item is damaged in shipping, please email me using the reply button to the confirmation email you received from us. Please provide pictures of the damage in question, as well as your packaging. We will provide a full refund when we are given proof of damage.

  • We do not provide replacements for broken items, but we do offer early access to the next pop-up shop, where you may purchase a new piece of pottery. The design you chose may or may not be in the next pop up, but this is how we try to make things right for those who are disappointed by a broken piece of pottery.
